    Funded by the United States Department of State, the American India Foundation’s Our Family, Our Neighborhood, Our World (O3) is a two-year project that prepares emerging young educators and their students in the Indian-Punjab and Pakistan-Punjab with the necessary leadership and technical skills for creating a more vibrant region and success in the 21st century through global networking and civic engagement. The O3 project will create a self-sustaining global network of cooperation among young educators in the region through introducing a new teacher training program that combines the use of interactive media with Punjabi art forms. The project utilizes modern media forms (videos, documentaries, photos) along with traditional art forms (music, dance, paintings, etc.) to enhance collaborative learning, build civic engagement, and foster cultural awareness of the many diverse elements of Punjabi history and culture. The project will be implemented by partner organization, the International education and Resource Network (iEARN) in Pakistan.

    The Project Officer will be a professional experienced in the education sector and/or creative arts fields. This position serves as the primary representative of the O3project on the ground responsible for ensuring the effective operation of the project, serving as the liaison with all school administrators, teachers, and students participating in the project and working very closely with members of the iEARN-Pakistan team.
    Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
    · Coordinate all project activities, develop and manage project calendar of activities, working closely with AIF India project staff and iEARN (Pakistan partner)

    · Serve as primary POC for project beneficiaries (teachers, students) for all ongoing project support, and develop processes for communications, documentation, and problem resolution

    · Conduct training and/or support sessions with a focus on creative arts disciplines (e.g., music, dance, theatre, multimedia)

    · Develop a community outreach campaign to (a) disseminate the reach of the project to NGOs, community leaders, educational and cultural institutions, and others; and (b) ensure the community action projects designed by students are supported and followed through to the fullest extent possible

    · Lead all event planning and oversee execution of project milestone events, working closely with venue staff, and/or establish new relationships to host and execute events

    · Schedule partner meetings, check-in meetings, videoconference sessions, and manage all technical needs of the project

    · Support the development of monitoring and evaluation plan for the project, including education-based indicators to track, ensure, and evaluate project outcomes

    · Lead all data collection activities, and provide timely reports and program dashboards regularly and as required by project leadership
    · Manage the work of two Field Coordinators, including oversight of regular reports, monitoring, and financials

    · Other duties as assigned by Project Director

    The position, which will be based full-time out of the punjab (Amritsar) with regular travel to project sites, will be FTE for a period of two years with the possibility of extension. The Project Officer will have the ability to work independently and as part of a global team including Program Managers, other Directors and staff in India and the US-based Project Director and staff.
    Qualifications and Experience

    · Postgraduate degree in education, training, humanities (e.g., history, political science) and/or creative arts discipline

    · 3-5 years relevant experience in development sector or educational program design, implementation, management, monitoring and evaluation

    · Experience in classroom environment through teaching, training, or facilitation

    · Demonstrable experience in arts-based education programs

    · Research background strongly preferred

    · Strong verbal and written communication skills

    · Ability to work seamlessly with multiple stakeholders in a fast-paced environment

    · Fluency in written and spoken English; working knowledge of Hindi and/or Punjabi a plus

    · Outstanding organizational skill, including the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously

    · Knowledge of Indian educational system

    · Knowledge of Punjabi history and culture a plus

    Compensation: In line with the developmental sector. Offers shall be commensurate with salary history, qualifications and relevant experience.

    Work Location: Amritsar, Punjab with local travel requirements
